April 2008 Astrological Forecast

During April, we will focus on the Saturn transit of Virgo and how it is affecting each of the signs of the zodiac, not to mention the emphasis if it is within 6 degrees of one's ascendant, sun or moon. Knowing your chart will help you in discerning how to deal with this Saturn influence, in respects to health, home, relationships and career. Saturn is the planetary disciplinarian and often reaping the karmic patterns of an individual; if we are disciplining ourselves and taking personal responsibility for our plight, then we will feel the rewards of Saturn. If we are somewhat sloppy in our attitudes towards disciplines and boundaries, then we will reap the confusion and conflict that comes when we don't pay attention to Saturn. Saturn will be turning direct the first part of May and we will feel somewhat relieved if it has been negatively influencing our charts. We will go through each of the signs and how they are affected generally.

Aries --- Saturn is really calling our hands at health issues and our own inability to follow a routine. Headaches and overwhelming energy losses will be experienced sporadically by Aries if they are not setting a routine, a healthy one, and sticking to it. This is not the time to mess with one's sugar levels and drink too much caffeine. This is a two year period in which y must watch out for your own routine, your work place being less distracted and your organizational skills being perfected. It is important to make a list each day of the things that are needed to be prioritized and stick to what you want to accomplish for the day. If you do not do this, then your relationships will suffer because of blaming and repressed anger, seeing the 'other' as the culprit, when it is really you that has the upper hand. If Saturn is working in your favor, then you are more organized, healthier and feeling more energized to do what you are meant to do.

Taurus --- Saturn is transiting your area of creativity and your passion for life, not to mention a new way of looking at love relationship and children. Your inner child is being challenged as is your necessity to apply creative abilities and set new ways of expressing yourself spontaneously. If you are feeling blocked in these expressions, then you are being held accountable, at a soul level, for 'following or not following your passion'. Taurus has a tendency not to value his/her own creativity and get bored with the 'status quo'. It is now time to ignite that inner flame and start expressing yourself in the ways that you deem creative about you, from cooking new dishes, reading new inspirational books, designing something with your hands, etc. Remember, Taurus, you don't have to have a great deal of money in order to accomplish your aims, and you cannot rely on your possessions and assets to help you with creative endeavors. This is a time when your sun can shine brightly through your own works, fueled by the passion you have for life.

Gemini --- Gemini's are going through major confusion as to career and home and are finding big changes going on in both areas. If they are not making these changes, then Saturn is playing havoc with them in the area of 'lack of focus' and energy drains. The Gemini has to learn to discipline his or her own duality in this process. I suggest that this sun sign develop a dialogue with the two selves that are always arguing with each other; even though this sign of the twins thinks that the argument is with an outer employer or mate/child in the home, it is not. The nerves will be tightened during the next two years and changes have to be made. The changes have to be preceded by a vision of clarity so it is time to focus on goals and ambitions that are 'reachable', not an avoidance of reality. Look around and see what is happening in front of your eyes and find out how you have kept the blinders on or how you have become more clearly defining yourself during this time. Get plenty of rest and don't talk on the phone too much or your energy levels will drop severely.

Cancer --- The Cancerian energies are being tackled by the way they communicate, how much they need to retrain for new positions in life and the degree to which they lean on family matters and not address their own individualities. The Cancer truly climbs into its shell when change needs to occur in the above areas. The way that one communicates with siblings and close friends has caused some hurtful things to be said and done on both sides of the fence. It is time to look at one's communication skills and to question, 'are you really telling people how you really feel'? Cancer's are always getting their feelings hurt and this is one reason that they don't come forward with a clearer understanding of their own feelings. It is time to seek some spiritual goals that you have put on the shelf up until now. You have a deep and abiding need for spiritual strength and you provide spiritual strength to others so you must be fed at all times in this area. You also may be needing to travel and learn more about the world around you ….this will cause you to be reluctant to leave home (your shell), but it is necessary to see how others live, maybe even following your own spiritual guide in this matter. Finding guidance from your spirit guide may be a must for the next two years.

Leo --- Saturn is affecting Leo in the pocketbook, income, debt and investments so all must be handled during this time. Another area of Saturn's influence on Leo is in the sexuality department. This is a broad term so we need to be clear that the physical sexual nature is being applied here to the overall sexual patterns in relationships. Leo's do not like to talk about their relationships to money and intimacy but the two are connected, and in order for a Leo to have a permanent relationship with rewarding companionship, he/she must learn to handle the Saturn influences….to watch out for one's own monies, budget and invest in one's own abilities….to discipline the body to handle the lower chakras and know how to say 'no' to others and 'yes' to self. Leo is a strong sign and having just gone through a tough two and a half year transit of Saturn, they have been strongly whipped into shape. Let's hope the Leo got the message and can now reap the rewards of stable finances and true intimate companionship.

Virgo --- Saturn transiting Virgo for the next two plus years will definitely be noticed by all Virgos. It is time to come to terms with health, boundaries, budgeting of monies, pursuing spiritual realities, etc. This will be a test of your true strength and your ability to stay focused and not be distracted by your own brilliant mind as it analyzes your every move. Virgos tend to worry themselves sick, if not use a form of self-criticism that is debilitating at best. These attributes are going to have to be looked at now, more than ever before. It will be time to get on a healthy exercise and diet routine as well as a few visits to appropriate doctors to make sure all of these changes are not occurring in your body, but instead, in your head. Boundaries and the ability to say 'no' to others when you are also saying 'no' to yourself, are going to be very important. You must put your self first and ask yourself if you are spending enough time with what 'you want to do and complete' or are you being distracted by your worry-aholic behavior. This can be a rewarding and eye-opening experience for you if you find sacred space for yourself and your time and adopt some healthy attitudes toward your life.

Libra --- Libra is undergoing this transit in their twelfth house in solar astrology, which will demand an understanding of how the unconscious has been working for all of these years. You might want to think back about 29-30 years ago and see what types of decisions you were making then, based on what? It is important that Libra looks at the path it has taken and how much avoidance of 'self-denigration' that has taken place during this time. Now it is time to affirm your presence in the universe and that will also affirm your presence to your mate and to your family; this is done by you taking charge and correcting all the 'enabling' you have done in order to have 'peace of mind'. This is a costly behavior for most Librans; the behavior that causes you to back off from what you really want to do for the sake of saving a relationship or getting in touch with your true companion and significant other. It won't work anymore….it is time that you spend time with yourself and analyze whether or not your relationships have been working for you or against you. What is so important about finding your self in the 'other' that you have put your life 'on hold'? Your brilliant gifts of mediation and good judgment need to be examined in the light of your own life and during this time, that might mean rowing your boat alone! (not something Libran's want to hear.)

Scorpio --- Scorpio, during the Saturn transit, will be examining their goals, the purpose of their lives and the importance of their own contributions while on this planet. This is a time to solidify your particular purpose in your life and get in touch with the spiritual energies that live in your depths in order to propel you out and forward. Scorpio, of all the signs, examines oneself in more depth than can be expressed. The ability for a Scorpio to 'know' at a deep level of Self/self is a gift from the gods….the root of their knowing goes back thousands of years into the etiology of the soul. Scorpio may be looking at his/her own ancient heritage/past lives/karma/dharma in ways that he/she has never looked before. This may give some clues about the footprints this intense and in depth sign wants to leave on this planet now. Most Scorpios are not willing to be 'known' for the gifts they bring as they think that their gifts are human nature. They are not. Scorpio must choose the people of his/her own kind now, more than ever as changes to this planet begin to manifest. They are the creators of purpose and healing, derived from ancient means. If you, as a Scorpio, have not come to this on your own, now is the time to start looking into your depths and finding the answers…..maybe your friends have been telling you this all along, what few friends you allow into your inner circle.

Sagittarius - Sagittarius will undergo this transit in their solar 10th house and therefore the career and status that one has attained at this point become very noticeable. It will mean a great deal of seemingly mundane work in the career areas or, if the Sag is very young, it will mean a whole new training so as to follow one's career star and purpose in this life. Sometimes Sag wants to throw up his/her hands and become a gypsy, travel the world, be an author, etc….and these things are all okay, but first one has to satisfy the Saturnian gods of stability and discipline in one's career and homelife. These will be a hard two years if this is not done with some positive influence from friends and family. It is time to adhere to the advice you so often give to others and bear up under what is going on in your own career, bearing up under the hardships, the over work, the boredom and the discipline of just 'showing up' that are so very difficult for Sag's to handle on a day to day basis. Sometimes drinking becomes a problem or food addiction, as a getaway from everyday stress. My prayers go out to your Sag people as I know how hard it is, being a fire sign myself.

Capricorn - The Saturn transit affects you in a way that helps give you what you deserve as to your brilliance and your stick-to-itiveness in the following years. Your judgment and your understanding of higher thinking and ability to follow your spiritual path become all important to you and the rewards are great as you are Saturn ruled anyway and Saturn will reward you with the prominence and notice that you have achieved through your hard work and your intense realism. Always there to present reality up close and personal, you will be asked over and over again to help others use their good judgment and you will have to clarify some guidelines so that others can 'behave' in a mature manner of speaking. You are getting the rewards of the choices you made 29-30 years ago. Claiming those rewards may not be so important to you as you make very little of all of this, however a pat on the back might help you keep the momentum up as you work toward advancing a more professional, spiritual philosophy in the lives of many others. Your ability to write and to be published will also be a focus on the next two years. Maybe you have a book in your just waiting to come out, eh?

Aquarius --- Aquarius is probably chomping at the bit of frustration with this Saturn transit. Saturn has made its way through your house of relationships and is now in your house of sex and money, so here we go talking about something that you keep underwraps to all concerned. It is time to settle all squabbles with the IRS, the government loans, the connections you have to others in sex or money and find out what you deserve and what you have to give up. This will not be an easy two years as this is the last thing for which an Aquarian needs reminding. Being in partnership is a heavy responsibility for this sign, who is highly individuated in his/her own right. For Aquarians who have already stood the test of monies/partnerships, etc., it will be a time of true transformation in his/her life. The transformation that will take place will be illuminating to some and disturbing to others as your true intuitive inspirations will come into play here. You guys are very psychic and intuitive and now is the time to open up and let others know how gifted you really are. The only warning I have about this is to keep at least one foot on the ground at all times. Watch your exercise, circulation and be sure to eat live foods….this will be a trying but illuminating time for you.

Pisces --- The sacrificing sign of the zodiac has been sacrificing quite a bit in the area of relationships, not finding the ideal, looking in all places for that important other who will affect life in a loving and positive way. Most of the Pisces have found such a person and now it is time to 'face reality', usually in the form of a permanent commitment. This is not easy for most Pisces as they struggle to bring their idealism into reality. It is much easier to keep one's head in the clouds and adopt a very important spiritual perspective rather than to face the reality of any given relationship no matter what kind and this includes long term friendships and any commitment one might have to organizations or career as well. There will be some hard work ahead for the Pisces in accepting the responsibility for all the projections one has had on relationships and working peers. It is time for Pisces to look in a realistic mirror and see oneself as one presents oneself….oftentimes this is shocking but, at the very least, one can see how inspirational one has been to friends, family, lovers, etc. This is a time that the only 'resolution' is in 'balance'. That means that one will feel he/she has compromised self……and maybe that is so. That is your area of sacrifice and it has to be done.
